Tarragona, Salou, Cambrils. Costa Dorada. 21 April 2014. More than 800 events and activities for families with children, youth and adults around gastronomy, representations of historical reenactment, exhibitions, lectures, guided tours and various workshops are the extensive program of the XVI edition of the festival Tarraco Viva, which takes place from 5 to 25 May in Tarragona.
This year, the festival revolves around the figure of the emperor Augustus and celebrated 2000 years of his death, but the transformation that made the Roman empire and the political and cultural unity which reached throughout the empire lasted for more than 300 years later his death. For this reason, and the passage of Augustus the city, Tarraco Viva this year wants to pay tribute to a central event around the Ara Pacis and a closing ceremony for the funeral of the emperor.

The historical reenactment festival Tarraco Viva, in full Spring is ideally Roman treasures of Tarragona, a World Heritage Site, and culture of one of the most important and lasting civilizations in history time. Most of the 800 events are new this year and involved more than 1000 Tarragona citizens plus historical reenactment groups and experts from Spain and Europe.
