Provincial and local authorities continue to promote joint tourism

Tarragona. Costa Dorada. The Tourism Council of the Provincial Council of Tarragona and representatives of 15 municipalities, two county councils and the theme park have been signed for the eighth consecutive year agreement regulating joint participation and coordination to promote their tourism, which among other things provides involvement expected in several national and European trade fairs. The agreement known as corner sets attendance at fairs promoted by the Catalan Agency for Tourism and the Tourist Board of Tarragona: the International Tourism Fair of Catalonia, Barcelona; Expovacaciones in Bilbao; Fitur, Madrid; Navartur in Pamplona, ITB in Berlin, Mahana, Toulouse; Vakantiebeurs in Utrecht, and WTM in London. As a novelty this year, the agreement provides for a corner six pack marketing actions markets Catalan, Spanish and French. All the actions envisaged in the agreement aim to take advantage of representing the coordination and integration of efforts to common goals. "It's a formula that adds forces in a time of scarce resources, hence the agreement makes us more efficient," said former President of the Provincial Tourism Office, John Aregio, who also emphasized the satisfying experience that generate the previous editions of the agreement corner. This initiative, however, was a pioneer in the whole country. During the signing of the agreement, Aregio wanted to convey a message of optimism in the sector, highlighting the increase in overnight stays (2.4%) and tourists (an 3.91%) in the Costa Dorada and the Terres de l'Ebre. Despite being aware that these figures do not represent an increase of turnover, which has even fallen, John Aregio wanted to make clear that "we have very good professionals in the tourism sector of the Costa Dorada and the Terres de l'Ebre, both the private sector as the public sector can continue to grow in volume customers.
