The Mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, together with Councillors of the Corporation, has opened the New Space for kids The Carrilet intends to be an open space where children enjoy recreational and educational activities in the middle of a big party for children. The local government has restored and renovated a space traditionally known as 'the former light railway station' especially significant for the city that historically connected ferroviĆ riament Salou and Reus. It is a project developed by the Municipal Technical Services has recovered and appropriate spaces existing enabling them to use children as a recreational and educational activity rooms complemented with additional rooms for services management, attention to family and space for teachers and instructors. The aim of this project lies in creating a space where children can learn through play and educational toys. The total area of 418 m2 is built and the investment is 750,424 euros for the project by the Local Investment Fund (FEIL). The new space will be open daily to be a point of contact between children and parents and where the municipality to develop interactive learning activities. Salou Mayor said in his opening speech that this is a much needed new equipment to supplement a meager offering so far. The project, funded with state funds, has meant an investment of 750,000 euros and has significantly improved the way outside the building.
