Christmas in Salou

Costa Dorada. 02 December 2023. Christmas has arrived in Salou one more year with the lighting of the lights that decorate the main streets of the capital of the Costa Dorada until the beginning of next year 2024. The confluence of Barcelona Street with Via Roma was filled with people from all ages to enjoy the organized show.

Music was the great protagonist of the afternoon. First with the performance of the Children's Choir and the Middle Choir of the Municipal Music School of Salou, who performed various traditional Christmas carols. Students from the Escola de Ball Nou Estil also performed and the young magician Harry Merlin Piper left everyone speechless with his tricks, which earned him an award from the English Association of Magicians. All of this presented and enlivened by the Fran Company.

The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, accompanied by several municipal authorities, has pressed the button that has turned on the lights that decorate the main streets of the municipality as well as the 10-meter-high Christmas tree that stands at the intersection of both avenues. The Christmas tree music, light and color show will be repeated every afternoon, until January 6.

Most of the Christmas lights that decorate the streets of Salou are LED and are made with 100% recycled materials. 20 single motifs, 31 double motifs, 20 triple motifs, 51 garlands and 3 3D motifs have been installed. Most of the lighting will be turned off at 1am to avoid light pollution.

To further decorate Christmas in Salou, decorative figures have been placed at strategic points in the most commercial streets. Thus, Paseo Jaume I, Plaza Europa, Plaza Bonet, Plaza de la Pau, Plaza St. Jordi and Plaza de la Provincia, among other streets, have nearly a hundrecorations.
