Salou. Costa Dorada. 11 September 2021. On Friday, September 17, 2021, the square of the Autonomous Communities of Salou will host the second edition of Ukraine Fest, a contest that aims to publicize the main cultural distinctiveness of this country in the capital of the Costa Dorada.

In this square, you will be able to enjoy a display of traditional Ukrainian fashion and craft products, as well as performances by Ukrainian dance and music groups, who will perform various performances. The Ukraine Fest will be completed by the performance of groups of traditional and popular culture from Salou, as a sign of the exchange between the two cultures.

The Ukraine Fest will take place between 6 in the afternoon and 10 at night, with all the anticovid security measures, since the capacity of the venue is limited. This is the second edition of this cultural initiative, which was held for the first time in 2019.

The festival is organized by the Ukrainian Association in Spain Djerelo, with the collaboration of the General Consulate of Ukraine in Barcelona, ​​and the Salou City Council and the Municipal Tourist Board.

Currently in Salou there is a community of about 300 Ukrainians who live permanently in the capital of the Costa Dorada, and for this reason the mayor of Salou and president of the Tourist Board, Pere Granados, has highlighted the cultural diversity of the municipality.

He has also explained that tourism promotion actions are being carried out in Ukraine, an incipient market, complementary to the Russian market, and with direct flights all year round to Barcelona. In addition, Salou has participated in Fam Trips and Press Trips from Ukraine, the last on September 2 of the tour operator Join Up.
