Great success of the Cos Blanc de Salou 2024 in its transfer to Passeig Jaume I

Cos Blanc Salou 2024

Salou. Costa Dorada. 04 February 2024. Absolute record for Cos Blanc 2024. More than 55,000 people have outgrown Passeig Jaume I, which for the first time hosted the celebration of Salou's quintessential festival and, without a doubt, the best open-air party on the Costa Daurada.

The light, music and color show has met expectations, as have all the elements that define the Cos Blanc: the 28 participating groups and their floats, with 3,000 costumed people parading along the Paseo, and more than 25 tons of confetti recycled and recyclable that have left Passeig Jaume I in Salou white.

The Cos Blanc has more than doubled the maximum participation achieved in previous years, when it was held on Ciutat de Reus street, and the way it has developed shows that the move to Passeig Jaume I has been a great success on the part of the City Council , not only because the new location is safer but also because it allows the growth and consolidation of the party.

In fact, the move from the Cos Blanc has had a knock-on effect, which has been contributed by the fact that the new Salou festival space has been installed on the Passeig. Thus, in the Passeig Jaume I parking lot, the tent has been erected where most of the shows and concerts of the Salou Winter Festival have taken place, and on the Passeig itself, 25 stands of leisure and restaurant establishments have been located. the capital of the Costa Daurada.

As far as the Cos Blanc is concerned, 20 towers and 19 cannons decorated with marine motifs have been set up in 400 meters of Passeig Jaume I (between Joan Miarnau Ciurana Street and Girona Street), from where confetti has not stopped falling. without stopping since at 7 in the afternoon, punctually, the laser lights turned on and the music began to play along the entire stretch of the Passeig, flooded with color.

The concentration of people has been such that the historic organizer of the festival Juanma Hidalgo has not stopped asking the public to make way to allow the parade of the floats and the members of the collas.

To the sound of the trendy songs of the moment, but also of Cos Blanc classics such as “Cada día sale el sol”, also known as “Chipirón”, by Bongo Botrako, the more than 55,000 people in attendance and the 3,000 who paraded in costume They have sung, they have danced and they have had their own particular confetti war, enjoying and making the Cos Blanc bigger than ever.

The next morning, the Town Hall's cleaning services left Passeig Jaume I and the Llevant beach clean of any trace of partying, whose sand was protected with mesh to facilitate subsequent cleaning of any confetti that may have been deposited.

For all this, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has been satisfied and has congratulated the Festival Department, with councilor Xavier Montalà at the helm, for this organizational challenge; to City Hall staff; to cleaning services; and to the security teams (Salou Local Police, Mossos d'Esquadra, and private security) and emergencies (Firefighters and ambulance) who have ensured that the Cos Blanc has been developed without any notable incident and has been an unprecedented success .
