Vandellòs celebrates pn Sunday the Feast of the Olive Oil

Vandellos. Costa Dorada. The agricultural cooperative Vandellòs organizes for Sunday 22nd January 2012, the Eighth Day of the oil with the help of the City of Vandellòs Hospitalet de l'Infant, the Centro Cultural or Sports and recreational of Vandellòs (CCERV) and the Association of Retired Persons and Pensioners. The festival, which aims to introduce the new olive oil produced by the cooperative, will begin at 9 am with a call for garlic and continue half an hour later, a popular breakfast where, more to taste oil cooperative, participants may eat toast, sausage, bacon, herring, roasted hazelnuts, mandarins, and drinking red wine and water. The ticket price is 3 euros. After breakfast, also there is a flip open bowling (around 11am). And during this gastronomic event, those interested in buying oil in the Agrobotiga can do so from 9 to 1pm. In the presence of traditional varieties of olive Salivenca Regues and, in addition to the Arbequina, an oil obtained Vandellòs fruity tones of green, flawless, stable, a greater presence of polyphenols, making last more cooking and does not get rancid as easily as oil arbequina and is also the most delicious eaten raw. The agricultural cooperative Vandellòs has produced a total of 20,612 gallons of oil this season.
