PortAventura gets 2 Parksmania Awards 2010




Vila-Seca. Salou. Costa Dorada. Parksmania, the professional community and fans of the most important theme parks in Europe, has recognized this year with 2 Parksmania PortAventura Awards, considered the "Oscars" of amusement parks in Europe. The theme park has received special awards in the categories of "Best European special initiative," specifically for the Halloween season, and the "Better Business Initiative", by the incorporation of Investindustrial as a new equity partner and manager of the park. The awards jury is composed of 9 independent professional staff of the magazine Parksmania, although for some categories reserves 1 vote reflecting the views and feedback of forum members Parksmania Club, an association of enthusiasts for the theme parks. The jury visited during this year all European parks to assess different initiatives.  Best Special Event: Halloween Halloween Season 2010 (September 26 to November 21) has been recognized as the best special event of the year among all European theme parks. So Parksmania has recognized the work of Gianfranco Bollini, special advisor to the Executive Committee of PortAventura, who took the 2010 season in charge of the department of shows Artistic director. Bollini has been has been responsible for the redesign of all events for Halloween and the author of the new theming of the park for this season. The season this year has been marked by new shows like Mystery (Grand Theatre Imperial China), where dancers and acrobats from an occult sect live a scary story in the room of an old Gothic convent abandoned, The Dance of the Vampires ( Saloon of the Far West), a musical where the actors interact with the public from a horror story with magic, dancing and rhythm or Viva La Muerte (Cantina Mexicana), a show inspired by the folklore of the deceased party is held every year in Mexico. It also renewed PortAventura other classics as Halloween Horror in the Lake (Mediterrània), The Freaks (Far West) and Temple of Fire (Mexico) and La Selva del Miedo (Polynesia). Best  Entrepreneurship: The arrival of Investindustrial Also Parksmania recognized as Best Business Initiative of the year in the field of European leisure parks incorporating as a new shareholder Investindustrial PortAventura. With this operation, which culminated in early 2010, the Italian investment fund took a stake in the resort with a 50% stake, while CaixaCorp retained the other 50%.
