The XII edition of the FEC Cambrils-Reus brings lots od new things




Cambrils. Costa Dorada. The XII edition of the European Short Film Festival FEC Cambrils-Reus will be from 24 February to 6 March 2010. The state contest will be held in Cambrils from 24 to 27 February, while the European Union Contest, to be made in Reus, shall be 3 to 6 March. The European Short Film Festival FEC Cambrils-Reus born from the union of two festivals: the FEC Cambrils (which has already held 11 editions) and the FEC Reus (with 8-year history). That is why the FEC Cambrils-Reus has two locations: Cambrils, which projects the state competing short films, and Reus, where you can watch short films to European competition. The other sessions and activities take place in the two locations. The FEC is established as a festival dedicated to the world of European films and contemporary video art. Project means the short FEC as a means and not as a destination, and therefore accommodates not only filmmakers but also artists who use visual or plastic film as expressive language. A European jury and from the world of cinema and the arts make the FEC a festival with a personal approach in the landscape of film festivals. Since 2005, the FEC Cambrils-Reus part of the Coalition of Film and Video Festival of Catalunya (CI & VI). Previous issues of the FEC Cambrils-Reus visual artists have embraced (Frederic Amat, Jordi Colomer, Carles Congost, Hannah Collins, Isidre Manils, Alfredo Pirri, Oriol Vilapuig), musicians (John Bardem, Carles Cases, Riccardo Massari Spiritini, Carles Santos, Miqui Puig, Rubin Steiner), actors and actresses (Marian Aguilera, Eloy Azorin, Chusa Barbero, Patrícia Bargalló, Georgina Cardona, Lucie Duchêne, Sergi Lopez, Paco León, Rosa Novell, Sergio Pazos, Vicky Pena, Pere Ponce, Pau Roca, Mercedes Sampietro, Assumpta Serna), filmmakers (Bigas Luna, Jaume Balagueró, Iciar Bollain, Gerard Gormezano, Joaquim Jorda, Isaki Lacuesta, Florestano Vancini, Edgar Pêra, Manuel Poirier, Xavi Puebla, Marc Recha, Luis F. New FEC 2010 The FEC Cambrils-Reus 2010 has received more than 2,500 short films from Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia , Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and Ukraine. Finally have been selected a total of 21 short films and 17 shorts European state to participate in the official competition section. In addition, the FEC Cambrils-Reus parallel program among the different activities that include the VII edition of the competition "Microfilms" The College Credit URV "I like shorts!" The children's animation workshop "Minicurts", the workshop film "Journeys" this year with two workshops, one in Cambrils and Reus and another in the "DO Films", with short films from directors as the Camp de Tarragona. Eager to keep growing, the FEC program, a new section that welcomes non-competitive short sessions grouped by theme, genre or origin and to project short films that are not in the official section of the festival.
