The seventeenth Renaissance Festival exceeds expectations

Tortosa. Delta el'Ebre. 22nd July 2012. A few hours after the end of the seventeenth Renaissance Festival, the organization considers to be initially exceeded expectations in terms of visitors coming to the shows and public payment. The crisis was fear that the audience was smaller, but the volume of waste, global sales in the taverns and the constant presence of the public streets of the old town, especially on market day, confirm that the Renaissance Festival continues to grow despite the current difficulties and budgetary austerity. These are the highlights of the first stock that made the mayor this morning and Attorney-in-chief of Tortosa, Ferdinand Bel, and the Councillor for Fiestas, Domingo Tomas. Bel said that although it is difficult to quantify people viewing Tortosa during the weekend, all the indicators that are usually considered in such events confirm the increase over the previous years. "The festival has grown in space, occupying streets and places that until recently had to work." This is the case of the street and the landing place of St. John, for example. The Valley Street has also incorporated a stretch of time to market, like the city streets. Altogether, Dominic Thomas said the councilor, has allowed a greater numbness of the amenities and a movement more comfortable for visitors. Although there are still some passes shows payment data so far highlight a high level of employment in the four productions. The mayor, who also wanted to point out that there was civility throughout the weekend, has decided that in difficult times like the present "we are showing that we can get a good Renaissance Festival with an effort of budgetary restraint" . An important part of success, according to Ferdinand Bel, "is the responsibility of groups and organizations in popular culture and the involvement and enthusiasm that puts all the citizens of Tortosa.". The Mayor thanked the work of Local Councillor and the team that made possible the Renaissance Festival.
