The Museum of Modern Art in Tarragona brings art to schools

Tarragona. Costa Dorada. October 22nd, 2012. The Museum of Modern Art in Tarragona Province this weekend hosted the awards ceremony and the inauguration of the exhibition: Are you an artist ... and exposed to MAMT. Calendar 2013. The event was attended by representatives of many families and schools who participated in the contest: 21 School Reus, Salou School, Los Angeles School Torreforta, College Mare Nostrum Torreforta La Salle College, Private Sacred Heart Cultural Foundation and College Lestonnac-L'Ensenyança. This project was agreed by the Council of Tarragona in October 2011 to carry out a new activity linked to MAMT Teaching within the educational program: Work with Art. The jury, made up of artists and teachers and Manel Margalef and Alvar Calvet, chose 12 works for a total of 64 papers presented. The creations of students are part of an exhibition that will be at MAMT until November 25. The initial event in the participating students in kindergarten and primary education in the province of Tarragona who made visits and activities MAMT Teaching throughout the school year 2011-2012. This new educational approach: Are you an artist ... and exposed to MAMT. Calendar 2013 is a step in the recognition of the Museum and its collections as an open space for discovery and participation, where schools can increase their educational potential.
