 The path to know the landscape and peoples of the Levantine coast of Tarragona that line the banks of the river low Gaia. Despite the intense pressure caused by the use urban tourism, some people still, in addition to imposing monuments, grace and warmth linked to a not so distant past. The route starts in Tarragona. Take the N-340 to the east towards Barcelona. At 9 km, along the Roman tower of Scipio, a funerary monument. On the right there is a parking for cars to stop allowing them to make a visit. A little further on, it runs along the Tamarit Castle, which is right. Worthwhile approach. The image of the castle poured over the sea is of great aesthetic beauty. The route continues to Altafulla, which is recommended to visit the set formed by the castle and the church of Saint Martin, neoclassical style. The core of the old town is also very attractive and holds a medieval air. Then follow up in Torredembarra, where you can visit the castle and Icard Church of St. Peter. Continue along the same road until Clara district, where we take the road T-210 and follow it to the N to Pobla Montornès to start the second leg of the inland river valley Gaia. At km 17.5, La Pobla de Montornès get to where you can visit the church. Now the journey continues towards the NO T-211 to Nine Gaia (km 23), where the castle of the Barons of the Four Towers. For the T-202 to the south, access to the Riera de Gaia (km 22.5). The village is very pretty, has a square with a monumental banana in the middle. Continue west to the T-203 to Catllar (29.5 km). In the village are the remains of a castle belonging to the counts of Santa Coloma and a remarkable Renaissance-style church dedicated to Saint John. Here the trail ends. You can return to Tarragona, or, if you have time, go to the NO T-203 and TP-2031.
