Tarragona organizes the twelfth International Music Festival



Tarragona. Costa Dorada. 28th June 2012. Tarragona hosts from 1 to 8 July the twelfth edition of the International Music Festival (FIMT). The event is organized by the School of Music and the Council of Tarragona and has attended several courses and concerts that will be run by professionals of international prestige. Despite the economic crisis, the festival turns the city into a meeting point between students and professional musicians around the world and the scene of concerts and activities geared to both music professionals and the general public . This has been highlighted in the press conference held this morning at the Music Conservatory of Tarragona Council, during which the vice president of inter-institution, Vallvé Albert, director of the Center for Music Education, Marta Sardana; teachers and coordinators of the Festival Jordi Masip and Roger Gonzalez and Xavier Bas, on behalf of Caixa Tarragona, explained that the new year will present this event. This year the festival will offer a total of 8 courses for instrumentalists and composers. Those responsible for running them are professionals: Carles Trepat (guitar), Will Sanders (horn), Jamie Williams (trombone), Vicens Prats (flute). As for the rope, Kai Gleusteen (violin), Rivka Golani (viola), Aldo Mata (cello). The series of concerts scheduled for the Festival will include concerts in the Mediterranean Chamber Brass brass quintet, 2 July, the Cuarteto Casals, July 3, the Girls Choir of the Catalan Choral Society, July 5, and Orchestra of the I Meeting of cord of the Music Conservatory of Tarragona County Council on 6 July.
