Mont-Roig. Costa Dorada. In 1911 the Catalan painter Joan Miro universal first arrived in Mont-Roig del Camp, with 18 years to heal after a long illness. Since then, and for 65 years, the artist spent long periods in the town where he began to paint and that inspired much of his work to the point that the artist claimed that "all My work is conceived in Mont-Roig. A century after that arrival, and given its importance, the City of Mont-Roig del Camp wants to lead the popular celebration of the Centenary Miro, next year 2011. Therefore, in the last full municipal and unanimously creates Miro Centennial Commission, which belong to people who have stood by their appreciation to the municipality, the local culture and the role of universal genius.
