The artistic legacy greek-latin returns to CaixaForum Tarragona




Tarragona. Costa Dorada. The Humanities program of Obra Social "la Caixa" opens in 2010 with one of its essential cycles of classical thought and culture: art and antiquity greek-latin. Often the only visible proof and about the historical legacy left by ancient civilizations are numerous and artistic creations that are still standing. To delve into the origins, role and influence of some of these architectural works, sculptures and icons, the Humanities program of Welfare "la Caixa" recover some lectures in the Art and antique greek-latin, to host CaixaForum Tarragona 8 February to 15 March 2010. One of the most ambitious architectural plans review of history, the Athens of Pericles, Greek sculpture meet far more important in Catalonia, the Asclepius Empúries; the lovely iconography, music and lyrics of Orpheus ; or of the most colossal and Michelangelo as "Angelic and not human design", the Pantheon. They are a very good example of grecollatí artistic legacy, but only a small part of art that can tackle the cycle which houses the Center of Social Welfare and Cultural "la Caixa" and is pleased to invite the opportunity for some of the professors, teachers and the country's most prominent conservatives. The lecture series Art and antique grecolatina, coordinated by Professor of Greek philosophy from the University of the Balearic Islands, Francesc Casadesús, held in Tarragona Caixa Forum (c / Columbus, 2), from February 8 to March 15 2010.
