The Salou government agrees fiscal and economic measures by COVID-19

The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has published a side that includes the fiscal and economic measures that the municipal government of the capital of the Costa Dorada has decided to take to mitigate between the citizens and the local business the effects that the health crisis is having by COVID-19. These measures are the following:
  • make the terms and procedures for the payment of municipal taxes, taxes and fees more flexible
  • the fees for the terraces and for the collection of waste in commerce are exempt from payment or with the right to refund the amount, from the moment that the activity of opening to the public was suspended and while the State of Alarm lasts.
  • the voluntary payment period for the tax on mechanical traction vehicles (IVTM) and the ford rate are extended until September 15, as it ended on May 15
  • for direct debit payments these taxes, the receipts will not be drawn until August 1 when it was made on April 1.
  • the waste rate and the Real Estate Tax (IBI) will be drawn on September 1 and can be paid until September 15, in a voluntary period.
  • the amounts of all those fees for services that have ceased to be provided during the mandatory closing period will not be settled and, where appropriate, refunded: Municipal Sports Pavilion, Swimming Pool, Music School and Adult School.
  • the deadline to appeal or request a refund is extended, for the duration of the Alarm Status. Thus, the City Council will facilitate the postponement and / or fractionation of the payment of taxes to all citizens or companies, depending on each specific situation.
As stated by the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, "we, from the local public Administration, will do everything in our power to help businessmen, merchants, self-employed in Salou and the society of Salou to alleviate the effects of the crisis that the current viral pandemic entails. " For this reason, "we have adopted fiscal and economic measures that we will apply in these difficult times."

For his part, the councilor for Finance and Economic Management, Yeray Moreno, stated that "from the Economic Management area of ​​the City Council, we will continue to adopt new measures depending on the new scenarios and the evolution of the situation, thus facilitating , that the citizens of Salou have the greatest liquidity possible, to face this alarm situation ".
