Salou. Costa Dorada. 07 March 2018. The Iberian town of La Cella, one of the most important heritage assets of the municipality of Salou, will open its doors next Easter to offer guided tours. The initiative is part of the Grup de Recerca Seminari de Protohistòria i Arqueologia of the URV and the IBER company; and has the support and collaboration of the City Council of Salou, as well as Arqueologia, Patromoni i Turisme SL., a company that was also part of the Tarragona University.

The main objective of these visits is to show this protohistoric town from the IV-III centuries BC, which enjoys an excellent location next to the coast, where you can enjoy and learn contemplating its defensive system, the domestic architecture and its complex houses, its streets and its urbanism, its economic or daily activities and its customs.

These visits will be carried out by one of the people in charge of the team that has carried out the archaeological campaigns carried out in the site, and will serve to explain both the main characteristics of the seat and the results obtained in the archaeological works and their interpretation. The days scheduled for the visit are Saturday, March 24 in the morning (at 11:30 in Spanish and at 12:45 in Catalan) and Thursday, March 29 in the afternoon (at 5:00 in Catalan). The activity will be completed with the visit through virtual reality, to one of the main buildings, an authentic journey through history.

It is recommended to make a reservation by calling 659 11 10 81 or by email at [email protected]. The visits last approximately one hour. The price of the activity is 9 euros for adults; 4 euros for children between 7 and 12 years and 20 euros for a family 8amb 2 adults and ½ children).

The activities in the archaeological site of La Ceja will not end here, but will have continuity during the month of April (weekend of April 20 to 22) with more familiar days and throughout the summer months with a programming that will include other guided tours, small historical recreations and commented tastings of Iberian beer.
